Disney's California Adventure

Disney's California Adventure

We all thought California Adventure was completely cool. Right next to Disneyland, we had a two day park hopper pass. California Adventure is not nearly as crowded as Disneyland, perhaps less little kids ands strollers. The rides are great. The 3D shows are fun and interactive. When a bug farts you smell it. When rats run off the screen you feel something at your feet.

The Aladdin show is typical Disney magic, almost a complete play of the original. The Genie character was ad-libbing the jokes out of current events fresh in memory so it is not completely canned. Using cables of course, they actually incorporate a flying carpet into the act. The Tower of Terror is a must, if you can handle 13 story drops.

The number one attraction I think for all of us was Soaring over California. It's an IMAX experience combined with motion, sound, wind and even smells. When you soar over northern California forests you smell the pine. Your feet seem to dangle just inches above the Golden Gate Bridge complete with ocean smells.  Flying over San Diego Harbor Navy ships are getting underway and you almost run into a  USN helicopter.  Sensory overload wrapped up in a unique high tech ride.  Just a great day to wrap up a couple days in Disneyland.
